A letter from the Executive Director/Producer
Hey everybody! Thanks for checking out Generation News. I hope that you enjoyed everything that our site has to offer. It is our heart to see the perception of the youth in our city changed to one that it positive and edifying. As the Executive Director and Producer I will ensure that noteworthy and quality material is passed from us to you. I hope that this effort would inspire not just young people; but people of all ages to always look for the good stuff in every situation. Generation News Incorporated is a non-profit organization that was founded in 2008 located in Rochester, New York. As a result of a dedicated staff and board of directors this organization has experienced rapid growth and is establishing itself as a credible entity in the Greater Rochester area.
Mission Statement:
To foster a more positive transformation as to how the young generation views itself; and how they are viewed and perceived by our communities and others.
Program Narrative:
“Generation News” is designed to tastefully showcase positive accomplishments of the youth in our communities. Our objective is to establish an organization in which the media’s portrayal of the youths in our communities of Monroe County will begin to radically repair the images of our youths. This organization will be designed to not only give our youth a better image to the older generations, but also to change the ways in which the youth of this county view themselves. The vision of “Generation News” is to search tirelessly in Monroe County to find every aspect of good and positive accomplishments of young adults. The organization will feature topics such as: high school and college service learning projects, local current events, street interviews, local, state, and national politics, health and fitness, and also the coverage of special events.

The goal is to film the majority of the accomplishments on location. This means that we will be very visible and active in the community. Our desire is to become well known and established in our communities. We want to capture the trust and confidence of our stakeholders in assisting us with our goals and achieving success and creditability in the vision of the organization. We believe that our presence in the community will begin to shift the tides of violence and despair.
